Information

Recreational Hockey Quad Freestyle Aggressive Ice

Anarchy Panik 2 (Size 2-5 Adjustable skate)

General skating usually including a brake on one foot Used when playing hockey -  have close together wheels for fast turns and no brakes 4 Wheels but side-by-side - as I remember when I was a lad :) A cross between Recreational and Hockey (a bit more comfy) - good for cones Small wheels and a sturdy boot - used for street skating e.g.: grinding Ice hockey skates

The skates have bearings : these are ABEC rated - the higher the number the faster they will spin. The rating is in odd numbers up to 9. ABEC 5 is reasonable. Modern skates feel very fast when you first try them but on a nice flat surface it's not too bad and you'll soon be able to manage them. Buying slow skates means you will probably want to change them later.

Skates have wheel in different sizes. The bigger the wheels then the easier it is to go over small stones outside but they aren't so manoeuvrable inside (i.e.: on cones)

Skates have frames in different sizes (where the wheels attach). The longer the frames then the bigger the wheels you can fit. Longer frames are more stable (at speed) but they make fast turning harder.

Some Skates have a brake - just one - which you can usually take off. Having a brake is good as a beginner, taking it off sounds madness but there are other ways of stopping than you can learn. Only leisure skates tend to have a brake as standard although you can buy brakes as accessories for Freeskates.
